Hi, I’m Alison, self appointed boss of The Ashers, and teller of stories.

I started this blog at a time when I needed a space where I could be me. Not a wife, mum, sister, chiro or friend. Just me. The blog knew how to draw me out and tell the truth.

Since then my heart has opened in unimaginable ways. I’ve been able to hold space for more people and become more outward facing. My sharp edges have softened along with my abdominal muscles. I am stronger than I thought I was, yet I still can’t tell my Mum I want a new tattoo.

So here I am: Alison, writer of stories that will open your heart, connect us together, and leave you a little changed, and a lot lighter.
