About Me
Welcome to my little corner of the internet.
I’m Alison, self appointed boss of The Ashers. At least that’s what they let me think.
I started this blog because I wanted something to be really in charge of. I used to be in control of all manner of things, then I got married and had two kids, and that all changed. In particular I had a kid with a ‘thing’, a health condition, and I found that so many things can’t be plotted or measured or organised, yet everyone still expects dinner on time.
What I do know, is that over the past ten years, my heart has opened in more ways that I would ever have imagined. My sharp edges have softened, my breath has become deeper, and my eyes see the world in a brand new ways. I am stronger than I thought I was, yet I still can’t send a meal back at a restaurant if it’s shit.
So here I am: Alison, writer of stories that will open your heart, connect us together, and leave you a little changed and a lot lighter.
Read, enjoy and share the magic around.
Hullo Alison Asher!
Found you via the Woogiest of Woog fb pages,
I live in Diddillibah (that’s actually quite close to you though most people on Sunshine Coast/in Noosa Shire would query me with “Where is Diddly-barrr?” Would you?
I also blog/write/edit etc
I also have a kid with a thing.
I also (though this is I will admit fairly common) love chocolate shops.
I will read some more. Thank you
I know exactly where that is, in fact I am trekking all the way there next weekend (I have mates who live in your ‘hood).
Do you have any relations who have kids at GSLC? I suspect your surname is not that common…
Hey Alison, it could be my cousin Troy’s kids but they are pretty young…then all Huckstepps in Oz were related at one stage – a guy called Charles stole a sheep in Kent with his mates in 1833 and the rest is history. Love your Edenland ILSA entries by the way. x
I just did my best Lip sync on the weekend, but on my phone and now can’t get it onto YouTube. Spewing.
I love your words – you write so powerfully. You’ve got me hooked. Just like the Terminator, I’ll be back!
Awww, thankyou Sammie!

Hi Al, This is beautiful. You were always a superb writer – hope we can reconnect at some point. It would be gorgeous to see how we have both grown…and stayed the same. Much love. xxx
Awww, thanks Amanda… I think I’m exactly the same, just with more frown lines and grey hair starting to take hold.
